Working-groups

Consisting of ten pole-cities, we are organized in different national working-groups (AG), which are in regular exchange with each other. We are open and grateful to all new employees:

AG cultural-political networking

The AG cultural-political Networking acts as a partner for cultural policy committees at state and federal level and promotes networking with associations and institutions of the performing arts at national and international level. The working-group is in intensive exchange with international partners,and part of various project groups. It develops concepts and position papers on the situation of the contemporary circus with the aim of promoting public and structural support for contemporary circus in Germany.

AG International

Since 2018, the team of international network coordinators has been working on the establishment of an international network and is cooperating with partners from the performing arts and contemporary circus scene. We represent the BUZZ ,among others, at Circostrada and work closely with the working-group cultural-political Networking.

AG Zirkus ON

Zirkus ON is a funding programme for the development and presentation of novelties and future-oriented creations of the contemporary circus in Germany. Every year, three selected projects from Germany present their in-progress productions to an audience of circus curators and professionals and are accompanied up to their premiere. Zirkus ON and its partners provides the following: Mentoring, residencies, workshops, presentations and promotion.

AG Charta

In this AG, the Charter of the Federal Association is being developed, in which we make the values that underlie our work visible. Here, we deal with sustainability and saving resources, as well as gender mainstreaming, conflict resolution strategies etc.. Once written, the charter will be published on the homepage and signed by each member. In this way, the members decide to act in accordance with the values enshrined in the Charter.

AG Media

Since 2019, the Media AG has been working on coordinating and developing the association’s presence in social media, as well as on its website and newsletter distribution. We coordinate the online BUZZ campaigns and cooperate with other associations in joint actions.

AG Press

The AG produces press material and informs the press and the general public about important milestones and events of the BUZZ.

AG Accounting & Administration

The AG takes care of all administrative tasks of the association, including member administration, and accounting.

AG IT and Technology

The working-group is responsible for the IT infrastructure and helps active BUZZ members with IT and technical issues, on-boarding and public events.

Clusters

The clusters complement the working-groups. They are working-groups with members who want to engage in BUZZ only for a specific topic and for a limited period of time. Anyone interested can start a cluster, search for people, who would like to join and get a mandate from the BUZZ for their defined topic of two years.

The pilot phase of the first round of clusters is 2019-2021.

Cluster Safety and prevention in circus practice

The Cluster reviews the state of technique and analyses the need for standardization of the circus equipment.

Cluster Education & science

The cluster achieves the professionalization of artists, the consultation at federal or state level and the legitimation at political level. The activities currently include: A collection of publications in German,, reviews of publications for the BUZZ homepage and the organization of nationwide “trainer networking meetings” for training and training centres.

Cluster Vision of a circus centre

The cluster aims to develop a vision for a circus centre in Germany. An analysis of the existing circus centres in Europe is carried out and the needs are clarified.
