Die Klimakrise ist eine der größten Herausforderungen unserer Zeit. Auch auf den Bühnen ist das Thema längst angekommen. Das Performancekollektiv Acting for Climate arbeitet genau an der Schnittstelle von Umweltschutz und Kunst. In „BARK“ machen sie deshalb die Natur selbst zur Hauptdarstellerin einer spektakulären und träumerischen Zirkusshow.
Immer an den jeweiligen Aufführungsort angepasst, kreieren die fünf Artist*innen gemeinsam mit Blumen, Blättern, Laub und Erdboden ein eindrucksvolles Naturerlebnis für alle Sinne und Zuschauer*innen jeden Alters. Nur was wir wirklich wertschätzen, können wir auch schützen, ist ihre Annahme. Und so vermitteln sie mit Akrobatik, Vertikaltanz und Physical Theatre auf, zwischen und an den Bäumen eine neue Beziehung zu der uns umgebenden Natur. Dafür nehmen sie auch selbst neue Perspektiven ein: An einem Ast in zwanzig Metern Höhe über dem Boden hängend wird die Abhängigkeit des Menschen von der Natur bildlich.

Played site-specifically in and with your local forest, BARK is about reconnecting with each other and with nature. The forest, the soil and the trees are the main characters of the performance, and co-create the piece together with the performers, climate scientists and outside eyes.

We combine a physical expression of group acrobatics, vertical dance, dance and physical theatre with contemporary soundscapes and poetic text, all performed up in, between, with and around the trees. Through being nature, reconnecting, and living utopia, we aim to convey a sensory experience that can change perspectives on our human natures, as a part of the biosphere.​

BARK premiered May 7th 2021 in Denmark; toured Denmark, Sweden and Finland by bike during the summer and autumn of 2021, and Catalonia, Germany and Denmark by train in 2022.
